about

From the CD Linear Notes:

Playing music is my spiritual practice. Many times when I am playing, especially alone, I loose all track of time and space. If there are no outside forces, such as an audience, then I fall into a deep meditation. I thought it would be interesting to record one of these sessions.

On the evening of October 20th, 2012, I set up the room to record and lit it with enough candles to see the fretboard. I played. When I woke up the next morning I continued the experiment with the light of the rising sun. Upon listening to the music, I was struck by how relaxed and peaceful it sounded. I continued the experiment again on the mornings of November 12th, 21st, and December 2nd.

Each piece I would begin with a sketch of a melody and a harmonic progression but how they developed was pure improvisation. I recorded each track in one continuous take, no cuts, no punches, and no overdubs.

It is my pleasure to share these recordings with you. (Warts and all)

Peace,

Joshua

I am an Alternative Folk Artist whose songs engage the listener to feel and think deeply, to find the reverence in everyday life, and to question the stories that define so much of the modern world
