Full Circle
02:24
|
|||
With the four directions she sets her intentions a focused mind
lights the candles flame
An unbroken circle a single threaded line spanning the aeons connected in time, those before her maid, mother, and crone, those who will follow
she doesn't walk alone
voices of wisdom the rustling of leaves, precious stems and flowers, roots and seeds, gather with love under the light of the moon, as dawn breaks
the heat of noon
Prepared with purpose, prepared with care
Prepared with the Earth, Fire, Water, and Air
Combined with Ether and fixed with belief
Thy will be done, so mote it be
As the River flows, as the Fire burns, as the Wind blows, as the Earth turns
As my Spirit guides intent with belief.
Harm None, So Mote It Be.
With the four directions she sets her intentions a focused mind
lights the candles flame.

Catching My Breath
04:01
|
|||
The sun rises over the field. The clouds make shapes and we point them out. I laugh, you laugh, we're alive
The moon is full and the city's singin'. We're watching cars go by.
I smile, you smile, we're alive.
When life is hard I remember this. The simple things we've got.
My hand holding yours and our fingers interlocked.
There's no way I'll ever forget the first butterflies from your touch.
Still catching my breath
Still catching my breath
The waves break upon the shore, searching for stones to take home.
I look, you look, we're alive
Upon the Earth we plant our feet, feeling the roots go down.
I know, you know, we're alive
When life is hard I remember this. The simple things we've got.
My hand holding yours and our fingers interlocked.
There's no way I'll ever forget the first butterflies from your touch.
Still catching my breath
Still catching my breath
From the pitter patter of little feet, to the stillness of the empty nest
I'm yours, you're mine, we're alive
When life is hard I remember this. The simple things we've got.
My hand holding yours and our fingers interlocked.
There's no way I'll ever forget the first butterflies from your touch.
Still catching my breath
Still catching my breath

These Woods
03:26
|
|||
Who's woods these are, I think I know, her home is in the ground below
warm and nestled, safe and sound, as these woods fill up with snow
We leave fresh tracks on sacred ground, and the crow calls out
from the highest bough, they are wary and we're from town
as these woods fill up with snow
These wood have stood ancient and wise through the harshest weather and tests of time. A cradle of life for all Earthkind these woods are sacred and wise. These woods are divine.
We're not hear to cut it down, but the forest knows when man comes around. Tracts of paper and surveying lens are not all that's carried in the hands of men, with a love for money, no respect for life, that's what you get with development, when they arrive with axes and saws, mechanically efficient bulldozers and claws, homes are leveled, stripped and tossed aside, loaded on trucks and taken for a ride, milled and processed, shipped and then, sold to build the homes of more humans
These wood have stood ancient and wise through the harshest weather and tests of time. A cradle of life for all Earthkind these woods are sacred and wise. These woods are divine.
We come with offerings, we come in praise, to commune and listen and learn the old ways, of bear and fox, of wolf and dear, of the crow and the raven, we've come to revere, we must remember, what has been for gotten,we must remove the core that is rotten,so we can offer our humble selves and beg forgiveness from all who dwell (in these woods)_
These wood have stood ancient and wise through the harshest weather and tests of time. A cradle of life for all Earthkind these woods are sacred and wise. These woods are divine.

Entwined
03:07
|
|||
The bed I'm in is warm and soft, our bodies tangled from sleep, the world can wait a few more minutes, I just need to breath
I saw a pair of geese flying through the spring morning sky
the air is cold with last night's snow, the road is wet for my drive
With nothing in my mind but the car stereo, horizon and the rising sun
A few more hours and I'll be home to be with the one I love
The tree on the mountain side, the stream that joins the sea, the roots of all things connected, you entwined with me
The geese in the morning sky, the dew that clings to the leaves, the truth of all things connected, you entwined with me

It's Our Fault
04:16
|
|||
I get so mad when I hear this generation has been dealt a bad hand
as though the environmental catastrophe was something we didn't understand.
The First Nations warned us more than a century ago, when there's no more fish, you can't eat gold.
We raised our voices and we marched around, but that doesn't stop the deals from going down
and its my fault, my parents' fault, we stood by and politicians denied, there's no doubt for not acting at all, it's our fault
For believing the dollar is almighty, letting Monsanto and Bayer run around like Nike, while Apple and Google share a Coke and a smile
McDonalds serves billions of animals slaughtered for taste, this disposable life laying it all to waste, Amazon delivers but Exxon goes the extra mile
And it goes on and on and on and on and on, it goes on and on and on and on and on and They Tell You
Change the lightbulb and the car you drive, I heard that bullshit a million times, we can't buy our way to sustainability
change the way we live, gotta change the way we shop, the bomb is ticking and there's seconds on the clock, there ain't no time for any more mistakes.
If we're gonna survive it ain't gonna be nice, can't keep living this first world life, the cost is too hight to keep eating steak
mmmm mmmm mm
and its my fault, my parents' fault, we stood by and politicians denied, there's no doubt for not changing at all, it's our fault
my parents fault, we stood by and corporations denied, there's no doubt for not acting at all, it's our fault
well, maybe there's hope on the horizon
I've read Derrick Jensen and he says to blow it up, go grab yourself a spear and learn to hunt, maybe that's the way it should be
The editors of Drawdown they say chin up, scale these solutions we can suck it all up, but I think the truth is somewhere in between
so I compost, reuse, recycle, zero-waste, be a vegan baby, and fix it when it breaks, and try to focus on only what we need
but doing what you can may not be enough
When the midwest is beachfront, I wonder where we'll go when there's no where left to run, technology fails and we go out into the sun
mmmm mmmmm
and its my fault, my parents' fault, we stood by and politicians denied, there's no doubt for not changing at all, it's our fault
my parents fault, we stood by and blamed the other guy, there's no doubt for not acting at all, it's our fault
think about the stories that we believe, the American Dream and the Economy, it's a fantasy and it's killing us
so why do we slave from another man's dream when we could be creating a new reality, what you reap is what you sow
ohh ohhh
Cause we are the corporations, and we are the politicians, and we are the other guy, look me in the eye, we are the same, them is us and we are to blame.

Makes the Angels Weep
04:24
|
|||
I don't believe in heaven, never prayed for my soul to keep, heard your voice in the darkness, I know it made the angels weep.
This nonbeliever found reason to believer, let me kneel down at your altar and hear the voice that makes the angels weep
It's all the same when the old rains come, dark clouds gather and the cold winds blow, the miles seem endless and shelter's scarce, thorns are braided into my hair, thorns are braided into my hair
I don't believe in heaven, never prayed for my soul to keep, heard your voice in the darkness, I know it made the angels weep.
This nonbeliever found reason to believer, let me kneel down at your altar and hear the voice that makes the angels weep
It's been some years but it still sings in my blood, thought I'd escaped but there's nowhere to run, this threadbare blanket protecting me, easy to follow harder to be, easy to follow harder to be
I don't believe in heaven, never prayed for my soul to keep, heard your voice in the darkness, I know it made the angels weep.
This nonbeliever found reason to believer, let me kneel down at your altar and hear the voice that makes the angels weep
Crows gather in the morning light, storms pass sometimes in the still of the night, gray clouds come, blocking out the sun, thought it was over, it's just begun, thought it was over, its just begun
I don't believe in heaven, never prayed for my soul to keep, heard your voice in the darkness, I know it made the angels weep.
This nonbeliever found reason to believer, let me kneel down at your altar and hear the voice that makes the angels weep

This is the story of disembodied knowledge of our severed connection to the earth and the subjugation of women as told through classic myth
She was a virgin taken against her will, violated and defiled at the temple on the hill, A God among men, he committed rape, but she was punished for his crime and could not escape
She was free of sin, flawless and fair, it was the color of her skin and the curl of her hair. The Goddess was jealous, pleas meet with scorn, her final judgement: Banish and Transform
Turn men to stone (3x's)
Couldn't leave her alone
Living alone an outcast she's feared and reviled, no man who ever enters ever leaves her statue garden, imprisoned, disfigured, her only crime being female, He walks Free, I've heard this Goddamned tale
And the story goes he's rich and debonaire, it was the cut of her clothes and her shapely derriere, society's conditioned to think she's a whore, final judgment is Banish and Transform
Turn men to stone (3x's)
Couldn't leave her alone
she didn't bring it upon herself that's a lame excuse to blame someone else for man's lack of self-control cause he's never held accountable.
This story's thousands of years old and you'd think we'd learn by now that the evil that men do needs to stop.
she's cast as the villain and we're taught to hate her, she's covered with snakes and he beheads her.
She was free of sin, flawless and fair, it was the color of her skin and the curl of her hair. The Goddess was jealous, pleas meet with scorn, her final judgement: Banish and Transform
Turn men to stone (3x's)
Couldn't leave her alone
